Teaching About Divorce

[4] And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created [them] from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, [5] and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'? [6] "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." [Mat 19:4-6 LSB]

Jesus Blesses Children

[14] But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." [Mat 19:14 LSB]

The Rich Young Ruler

[16] And behold, someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" [Mat 19:16 LSB]

[17] And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is [only] One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." [Mat 19:17 LSB]

[20] The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?" [Mat 19:20 LSB]

[21] Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go [and] sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." [Mat 19:21 LSB]

[25] And when the disciples heard [this], they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?" [26] And looking at [them] Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." [Mat 19:25-26 LSB]

[14] "Is anything too difficult for Yahweh? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son." [Gen 18:14 LSB]

Many Who Are First Will Be Last

[29] "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will receive one hundred times as much, and will inherit eternal life. [Mat 19:29 LSB]

Laborers in the Vineyard

[14] 'Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. [15] 'Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?' [16] "So the last shall be first, and the first last." [Mat 20:14-16 LSB]

Jesus Again Foretells His Death and Resurrection

[18] "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, [19] and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify [Him], and on the third day He will be raised up." [Mat 20:18-19 LSB]

A Request for Status

[23] He said to them, "My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on [My] left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father." [Mat 20:23 LSB]

[11] It is a trustworthy saying: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; [12] If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we will deny Him, He also will deny us; [2Ti 2:11-12 LSB]

Sight for the Blind

[34] And moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him. [Mat 20:34 LSB]

[36] And seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd. [Mat 9:36 LSB]

[32] And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, "I feel compassion for the crowd, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." [Mat 15:32 LSB]

The Triumphal Entry

Cleansing the Temple

[13] And He said to them, "It is written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER'; but you are making it a ROBBERS' DEN." [Mat 21:13 LSB]

[7] Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them glad in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples." [Isa 56:7 LSB]

[11] "Has this house, which is called by My name, become a robbers' den in your sight? Behold, I, even I, have seen [it]," declares Yahweh. [Jer 7:11 LSB]
