Genesis 28-30

Jacob Is Sent to Laban

[8] So Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan were displeasing in the sight of his father Isaac; [9] and Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath, the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife, besides the wives that he had. [Gen 28:8-9 LSB]

Jacob’s Dream

[12] Then he had a dream, and behold, a ladder stood on the earth with its top touching heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. [Gen 28:12 LSB]

[51] And He said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see THE HEAVENS OPENED AND THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING on the Son of Man." [Jhn 1:51 LSB]

[13] And behold, Yahweh stood above it (besides him) and said, "I am Yahweh, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your seed. [Gen 28:13 LSB] 

Jacob’s Love for Rachel

[20] So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they were in his sight but a few days because of his love for her. [Gen 29:20 LSB]

Laban Deceives Jacob

[30] So [Jacob] went in to Rachel also, and indeed he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years. [Gen 29:30 LSB]

The Sons of Jacob

[22] Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb. [23] So she conceived and bore a son and said, "God has taken away my reproach." [24] And she named him Joseph, saying, "May Yahweh give me another son." [Gen 30:22-24 LSB]
