Israel Multiplies in Egypt

[11] So they appointed taskmasters over them to afflict them with hard labors. And they built for Pharaoh storage cities, Pithom and Raamses. [Exo 1:11 LSB]

[13] Then [God] said to Abram, "Know for certain that your seed will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. [Gen 15:13 LSB]

The Birth of Moses

[10] And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she named him Moses and said, "Because I drew him out of the water." [Exo 2:10 LSB]

Moses Flees to Midian

[11] Now it happened in those days, that Moses had grown up. And he went out to his brothers and looked on their hard labors. And he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers. [Exo 2:11 LSB]

[23] "But when he was approaching the age of forty, it entered his heart to visit his brothers, the sons of Israel. [24] "And when he saw one [of them] being treated unjustly, he defended him and took justice for the oppressed by striking down the Egyptian. [Act 7:23-24 LSB]

[21] And Moses was willing to settle down with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses. [22] Then she gave birth to a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, "I have been a sojourner in a foreign land." [Exo 2:21-22 LSB]

God Hears Israel’s Groaning

[24] So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. [25] And God saw the sons of Israel, and God knew [them]. [Exo 2:24-25 LSB]

God Calls Moses at the Burning Bush

[14] And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" [Exo 3:14 LSB]

[15] And God furthermore said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name from generation to generation. [Exo 3:15 LSB]
