Judging Others

Mat 7:15-16 LSB - [15] "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. [16] "You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?

Mat 7:21 LSB - [21] "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven [will enter].

Build Your House on the Rock

Mat 7:24-25 LSB - [24] "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. [25] "And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew and fell against that house; and [yet] it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

Mat 8:2-3 LSB - [2] And behold, a leper came to Him and was bowing down before Him, and said, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." [3] And Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

The Centurion’s Faith

Mat 8:8 LSB - [8] But the centurion said, "Lord, I am not good enough for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Mat 8:11-12 LSB - [11] "And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline [at the table] with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; [12] but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Peter’s Mother-In-Law and Many Others Healed

Mat 8:16-17 LSB - [16] Now when evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill [17] in order to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES."

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

[2] And behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven." ... 

[6] "But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--then He said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your bed and go home."

Matthew and Sinners Called

Mat 9:9-10 LSB - 

[9] And as Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax office; and He said to him, "Follow Me!" And he stood up and followed Him. 

[10] Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining [at the table] in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.

Mat 9:12-13 LSB - 

[12] But when Jesus heard [this], He said, "[It is] not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. 

[13] "But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Hos 6:6 LSB - [6] For I delight in lovingkindness rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

 

A Question About Fasting

Mat 9:15 LSB - [15] And Jesus said to them, "Can the attendants of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Miracles of Healing

Mat 9:35-38 LSB - [35] And Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. [36] And seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd. [37] Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. [38] "Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."
