The Temptation of Jesus
Mat 4:1-2 LSB - [1] Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. [2] And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry.
Mat 4:4 LSB - [4] But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"

Mat 4:17 LSB - [17] From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
The First Disciples
Mat 4:18-20 LSB - [18] Now as [Jesus] was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. [19] And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." [20] And immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
Mat 4:21-22 LSB - [21] And going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. [22] And immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Ministry in Galilee
Mat 4:23 LSB - [23] And Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.

Mat 5:11-12 LSB - [11] "Blessed are you when [people] insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. [12] "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Mat 6:31-32 LSB - [31] "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' [32] "For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
