Unity in the Body of Christ
[1] I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
[2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
[3] eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
[Eph 4:1-3 ESV]
[4] There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call--
[5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
[6] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
[Eph 4:4-6 ESV]
[8] Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." ... [11] And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,
[12] to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
[13] until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
[14] so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
[Eph 4:8, 11-14 ESV]
The New Life
[20] But that is not the way you learned Christ!--
[21] assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,
[22] to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
[23] and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
[24] and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. [Eph 4:20-24 ESV]
[26] Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
[27] and give no opportunity to the devil.
[Eph 4:26-27 ESV]
[30] And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. [Eph 4:30 ESV]
Walk in Love
[1] Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
[2] And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
[Eph 5:1-2 ESV]
[18] And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
[19] addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,
[20] giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, [21] submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
[Eph 5:18-21 ESV]
Wives and Husbands
[25] Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
[26] that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
[27] so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
[Eph 5:25-27 ESV]
Children and Parents
[4] Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. [Eph 6:4 ESV]
Bondservants and Masters
[5] Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,
[6] not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
[7] rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, [8] knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free.
[Eph 6:5-8 ESV]
The Whole Armor of God
[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
[Eph 6:10-11 ESV]
[13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
[14] Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
[15] and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
[Eph 6:13-15 ESV]
[18] praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, [Eph 6:18 ESV]
Final Greetings
[23] Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
[24] Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.
[Eph 6:23-24 ESV]
