Greeting
[1] Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus:
[2] Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
[Eph 1:1-2 ESV]
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
[4] even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love
[5] he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
[6] to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
[Eph 1:3-6 ESV]
[7] In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, [Eph 1:7 ESV]
[11] In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, [Eph 1:11 ESV]
[13] In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
[14] who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. [Eph 1:13-14 ESV]
Thanksgiving and Prayer
[16] I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,
[17] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,
[18] having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
[19] and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might
[20] that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
[21] far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
[Eph 1:16-21 ESV]
By Grace Through Faith
[4] But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
[5] even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved--
[6] and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
[7] so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
[Eph 2:4-7 ESV]
One in Christ
[13] But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. [14] For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
[15] by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,
[16] and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. [Eph 2:13-16 ESV]
The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed
[11] This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord,
[12] in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.
[Eph 3:11-12 ESV]
Prayer for Spiritual Strength
[14] For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
[15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
[16] that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
[17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
[19] and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
[Eph 3:14-19 ESV]
