Zechariah 11-14 - Yahweh Will Be King over All

Woe to the Worthless Shepherd

Zec 11:12-13 LSB - 

[12] And I said to them, "If it is good in your sight, give [me] my wages; but if not, never mind!" So they weighed out thirty [shekels] of silver as my wages. 

[13] Then Yahweh said to me, "Throw it to the potter, [that] valuable price at which I was valued by them." So I took the thirty [shekels] of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of Yahweh.

Mat 27:3, 7 LSB - [3] Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, ... [7] And taking counsel together, they bought with the money the Potter's Field as a burial place for strangers.

 

Yahweh Will Save

Zec 12:1 LSB - [1] The oracle of the word of Yahweh concerning Israel. [Thus] declares Yahweh who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him,

Zec 12:8 ESV - [8] On that day the LORD will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the LORD, going before them.

Mourning for the Pierced One

Zec 12:10 LSB - [10] "And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

Jerusalem Refined and Tested

Zec 13:7 LSB - [7] "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd And against the man, My Associate," Declares Yahweh of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

Mat 26:31 LSB - [31] Then Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, 'I WILL STRIKE DOWN THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK SHALL BE SCATTERED.'

Zec 13:9 LSB -
[9] "And I will bring the third part through the fire
And refine them as silver is refined
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them;
I will say, 'They are My people,'
And they will say, 'Yahweh is my God.'"

Yahweh Will Battle the Nations

Zec 14:3 LSB - [3] Then Yahweh will go forth and fight against those nations, as the day when He fights on a day of battle.

Zec 14:6 LSB - [6] And it will be in that day, [that] there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle.

Yahweh Will Be King over All

Zec 14:9 LSB - [9] And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be [the only] one, and His name one.

Zec 14:12 LSB - [12] Now this will be the plague with which Yahweh will plague all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.

Zec 14:14 LSB - [14] And Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance.

Zec 14:16-17 LSB - 

[16] Then it will be that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 

[17] And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, there will be no rain on them.
