Psalm 61-65 - Lead Me to the Rock

Lead Me to the Rock

Psa 61:1 LSB - [1] For the choir director. On a stringed instrument. Of David.
Hear my cry of lamentation, O God;
Give heed to my prayer.

“Pharisees may rest in their prayers; true believers are eager for an answer to them: ritualists may be satisfied when they have ‘said or sung’ their litanies and collects, but living children of God will never rest till their supplications have entered the ears of the Lord God of Sabaoth.” (Spurgeon)

Psa 61:3-4 LSB -
[3] For You have been a refuge for me,
A tower of strength before the enemy.
[4] Let me sojourn in Your tent forever;
Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.

Psa 61:8 LSB - [8] So I will sing praise to Your name forever, As I pay my vows day by day.

God Is a Refuge for Us

Psa 62:1 LSB - [1] Surely my soul [waits] in silence for God; From Him is my salvation.

Psa 62:5 LSB - [5] Surely wait in silence for God, O my soul, For my hope is from Him.

Psa 62:8 LSB - [8] Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.

My Soul Thirsts for You

Psa 63:1 LSB - [1] O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land without water.

Psa 63:2 LSB - [2] Thus I have beheld You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

Psa 63:6 LSB - [6] When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,

Hide Me from the Wicked

Psa 64:2 LSB - [2] Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity,

Blessed Is the One Whom You Choose

Psa 65:4 LSB - [4] How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near [to You]
That he would dwell in Your courts.
We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.

Psa 65:13 LSB - [13] The meadows are clothed with flocks And the valleys are covered with grain; They make a loud shout, indeed, they sing.
