To Know Wisdom

Pro 1:2-3 LSB - 

[2] To know wisdom and discipline, 

To understand the sayings of understanding, 

[3] To receive discipline [that leads to] insight, 

Righteousness, justice, and equity,

Pro 1:7 LSB - [7] The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; 

Ignorant fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Pro 9:10 LSB - [10] The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom,

And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Job 28:28 LSB - [28] "So He said to man, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;

And to turn away from evil is understanding.'"

The Enticement of Sinners

Pro 1:8 LSB - [8] Hear, my son, your father's discipline And do not abandon your mother's instruction;

The Call of Wisdom

Pro 1:20 LSB - [20] Wisdom shouts in the street, She gives forth her voice in the square;

Pro 1:28-29 LSB - [28] "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me earnestly but they will not find me, [29] Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of Yahweh.

Yahweh Gives Wisdom

Pro 2:2-3 LSB - 

[2] To make your ear pay attention to wisdom, 

Incline your heart to discernment; 

[3] For if you call out for understanding, 

Give your voice for discernment;

Pro 2:4-5 LSB - [4] If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
[5] Then you will understand the fear of Yahweh
And find the knowledge of God.

Pro 2:6 LSB - [6] For Yahweh gives wisdom; 

From His mouth [come] knowledge and discernment.

Pro 2:10-12 LSB - 

[10] For wisdom will enter your heart 

And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; 

[11] Discretion will keep you, 

Discernment will guard you, 

[12] To deliver you from the way of evil, 

From the man who speaks perverse things;

Trust, Fear, and Honor Yahweh

Pro 3:5-7 LSB - 

[5] Trust in Yahweh with all your heart 

And do not lean on your own understanding. 

[6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, 

And He will make your paths straight. 

[7] Do not be wise in your own eyes; 

Fear Yahweh and turn away from evil.

A Father’s Wise Instruction
