A Father’s Wise Instruction
Pro 4:3-4 LSB - [3] When I was a son to my father,
Tender and the only son before my mother,
[4] Then he instructed me and said to me,
"Let your heart hold fast my words;
Keep my commandments and live;
Pro 4:7 LSB - [7] "The beginning of wisdom [is]:
Acquire wisdom;
And with all your acquiring, acquire understanding.
Warning Against Adultery
Pro 5:19 LSB - [19] [As] a loving hind and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
Be intoxicated always with her love.
Pro 5:21 LSB - [21] For the ways of a man are before the eyes of Yahweh,
And He watches all his tracks.
Practical Warnings
Pro 6:6 LSB - [6] Go to the ant, O sluggard,
Observe her ways and be wise,
Pro 6:16-19 LSB - [16] There are six things which Yahweh hates,
Even seven which are an abomination to Him:
[17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] A heart that devises wicked thoughts,
Feet that hasten to run to evil,
[19] A false witness [who] breathes out lies,
And one who spreads strife among brothers.
Warning Against Adultery
Pro 6:20-22 LSB - [20] My son, observe the commandment of your father
And do not abandon the law of your mother;
[21] Bind them continually on your heart;
Tie them around your neck.
[22] When you walk about, they will lead you;
When you sleep, they will keep watch over you;
And when you awake, they will speak to you.
