The Temptation of Jesus

[1] Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was being led around by the Spirit in the wilderness 

[2] for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had finished, He was hungry.

If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here, for it is written, ‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,’ and, ‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, LEST YOU STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’	[Luk 4:12 LSB]  [12] And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"

[14] And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district. 

[15] And He was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

[18] "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, [19] TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."

[1] The Spirit of Lord Yahweh is upon me Because Yahweh has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners,

[21] And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."

[20] And seeing their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you."
