Acts 4-6

Peter and John Arrested

[11] "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, [but] WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER [stone]. 

[12] "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." [Act 4:11-12 LSB]

[22] The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner [stone]. 

[23] This is from Yahweh; It is marvelous in our eyes. [Psa 118:22-23 LSB]

[6] Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me. [Jhn 14:6 LSB]

Peter and John Threatened and Released

[19] But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to hear you rather than God, you be the judge; 

[20] for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard." [Act 4:19-20 LSB]

[31] And when they had prayed earnestly, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and [began to] speak the word of God with confidence. [Act 4:31 LSB]

Distribution Among Needy Believers

[32] And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and not one was saying that any of his possessions was his own, but, for them, everything was common. 

[33] And with great power the apostles were bearing witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. [Act 4:32-33 LSB]

Ananias and Sapphira

[11] And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard these things. [Act 5:11 LSB]

The Apostles Jailed and Freed

[29] But Peter and the apostles answered and said, "We must obey God rather than men. [Act 5:29 LSB]

[15] "If it is evil in your sight to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh." [Jos 24:15 LSB]

[30] "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you put to death by hanging Him on a tree.
[31] "This One God exalted to His right hand as a Leader and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
[32] "And we are witnesses of these things, and [so is] the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to those who obey Him." [Act 5:30-32 LSB]

Gamaliel’s Counsel

[41] So they went on their way from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for the Name. 

[42] And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus [is] the Christ. [Act 5:41-42 LSB]

Selection of the Seven

[3] "Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this need.

[7] And the word of God kept on spreading, and the number of the disciples continued to multiply greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith. [Act 6:7 LSB]

Stephen Accused of Blasphemy

[15] And fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin saw his face like the face of an angel. [Act 6:15 LSB]
