The Priesthoods of Melchizedek and Christ
[17] For it is witnessed [about Him], "YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK." [Heb 7:17 LSB]
[1] Of David. A Psalm. Yahweh says to my Lord: "Sit at My right hand Until I put Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet." ... [4] Yahweh has sworn and will not change His mind, "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek." [Psa 110:1, 4 LSB]
[25] Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. [Heb 7:25 LSB]
Jesus, High Priest of a New Covenant
[1] Now the main point in what is being said [is this]: we have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, [2] a minister in the holy places and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man. [Heb 8:1-2 LSB]
[7] For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second. ... [13] When He said, "A new [covenant]," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear. [Heb 8:7, 13 LSB]
[33] "But this is the covenant which I will cut with the house of Israel after those days," declares Yahweh: "I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. [Jer 31:33 LSB]
[19] "And I will give them one heart and give within them a new spirit. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, [20] that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God. [Eze 11:19-20 LSB]
The Old Covenant
[9] which [is] a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, [Heb 9:9 LSB]
The New Covenant
[11] But when Christ appeared [as] a high priest of the good things to come, [He entered] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, [12] and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy places once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. [Heb 9:11-12 LSB]
[28] so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without [reference to] sin, to those who eagerly await Him. [Heb 9:28 LSB]
