2 Corinthians 7-9

2Co 7:1 LSB - [1] Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Godly Sorrow Produces Repentance

2Co 7:10 LSB - [10] For godly sorrow produces a repentance without regret, [leading] to salvation, but the sorrow of the world brings about death.

2Co 7:11 LSB - [11] For behold what earnestness this very thing--this godly sorrow--has brought about in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.

Generosity and Grace

2Co 8:1-5 LSB -
[1] Now brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia,
[2] that in a great testing by affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the richness of their generosity.
[3] For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, [they gave] of their own accord,
[4] begging us with much urging for the grace of sharing in the ministry to the saints,
[5] and [this], not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God.

2Co 8:15 LSB - [15] As it is written, "HE WHO [gathered] MUCH DID NOT HAVE TOO MUCH, AND HE WHO [gathered] LITTLE HAD NO LACK."

Exo 16:18 LSB - [18] And they measured it with an omer, and he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat.

God Loves a Cheerful Giver

2Co 9:6-8 LSB -
[6] Now this [I say], he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows with blessing will also reap with blessing.
[7] Each one [must do] just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
[8] And God is able to make every grace abound to you, so that in everything at every time having every sufficiency, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
