God of All Comfort
2Co 1:3-4 LSB -
[3] Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
[4] who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2Co 1:5 LSB - [5] For just as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
Paul’s Change of Plans
Forgive and Love the Sinner
2Co 2:15-16 LSB -
[15] For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
[16] to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?
2Co 2:17 LSB - [17] For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
2Co 4:2 LSB - [2] but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Ministers of a New Covenant
2Co 3:6 LSB - [6] who also made us sufficient [as] ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2Co 3:15-16 ESV -
[15] Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts.
[16] But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
2Co 3:17-18 LSB -
[17] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, [there] is freedom.
[18] But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
