God’s Chosen People, Israel
[3] For not knowing about the righteousness of God and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
[4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
[Rom 10:3-4 LSB]
Faith Comes by Hearing
[8] But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
[9] that if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
[10] for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation.
[Rom 10:8-10 LSB]
[14] How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
[15] And how will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"
[Rom 10:14-15 LSB]
[17] So faith [comes] from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
[Rom 10:17 LSB]
God Has Not Rejected Israel
[4] But what does the divine response say to him? "I HAVE LEFT for Myself SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL."
[5] In this way then, at the present time, a remnant according to [God's] gracious choice has also come to be.
[Rom 11:4-5 LSB]
[7] What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but the chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;
[Rom 11:7 LSB]
All Israel Will Be Saved
[25] For I do not want you, brothers, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;
[26] and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB."
[27] "AND THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."
[Rom 11:25-27 LSB]
A Living and Holy Sacrifice
[9] [Let] love [be] without hypocrisy--by abhorring what is evil, clinging to what is good,
[10] [being] devoted to one another in brotherly love, giving preference to one another in honor,
[11] not lagging behind in diligence, being fervent in spirit, serving the Lord,
[12] rejoicing in hope, persevering in affliction, being devoted to prayer,
[13] contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.
[Rom 12:9-13 LSB]
