Job 25-27

Bildad Asks, Can Man Be Right with God?

[4] "How then can mortal man be right with God? Or how can he be pure who is born of woman?
[5] "Behold even the moon has no brightness, And the stars are not pure in His sight;
[6] How much less mortal man, [that] maggot, And the son of man, [that] worm!"
[Job 25:4-6 LSB]

[2] "In truth I know that this is so; But how can a man be in the right before God?
[Job 9:2 LSB]

[19] Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are in the Law, so that every mouth may be shut and all the world may become accountable to God;
[20] because by the works of the Law NO FLESH WILL BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT, for through the Law [comes] the knowledge of sin.
[Rom 3:19-20 LSB]

Who Can Understand God?

[12] "He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He crushed Rahab.
[13] "By His breath the heavens are [made] beautiful; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.
[14] "Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how [only with] a whisper of a word do we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"
[Job 26:12-14 LSB]

I Hold Fast My Righteousness

[3] For as long as breath is in me, And the spirit from God is in my nostrils,
[4] My lips certainly will not speak unrighteousness, Nor will my tongue utter deceit.
[Job 27:3-4 LSB]
