Saul Puts the Priests at Nob to Death

[9] Then Doeg the Edomite, who was standing by the servants of Saul, said, "I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

[1] For the choir director. A Maskil of David. When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God [endures] all day long.

David Saves Keilah

[2] So David asked of Yahweh, saying, "Shall I go and strike these Philistines?" And Yahweh said to David, "Go and strike the Philistines and save Keilah."

[4] Then David asked of Yahweh once more. And Yahweh answered him and said, "Arise, go down to Keilah, for I will give the Philistines into your hand."

Saul Pursues David

[19] Then Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, "Is David not hiding with us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?

[1] For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Maskil of David. When the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Is not David hiding himself among us?" O God, save me by Your name, And render justice to me by Your might.

[5] And it happened afterward that David's heart struck him because he had cut off the edge of Saul's [robe].
