The Preaching of John the Baptist

[4] John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

[4] Then Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus." [Act 19:4 LSB]

[16] 'Now why do you delay? Rise up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.' [Act 22:16 LSB]

[8] "I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

The Baptism of Jesus

[10] And immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him;

[14] Now after John had been delivered up [into custody], Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, 

[15] and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

[5] And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."

[16] And when the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they were saying to His disciples, "He is eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners!" 

[17] And hearing [this], Jesus said to them, "Those who are healthy do not have need for a physician, but [only] those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

[27] And Jesus was saying to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.

[4] And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.

[13] And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. 

[14] And He appointed twelve (whom He also named apostles) to be with Him and to send them out to preach, 

[15] and to have authority to cast out the demons.

Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit

[28] "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; [29] but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"-- 

[30] because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."
