Josiah Reigns over Judah
2Ch 34:1-2 LSB - [1] Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. [2] And he did what was right in the sight of Yahweh and walked in the ways of his father David and did not turn aside to the right or to the left.
2Ch 34:3 LSB - [3] Now in the eighth year of his reign while he was still a youth, he began to seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, the graven images, and the molten images.

2Ch 34:9 LSB - [9] And they came to Hilkiah the high priest and gave him the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites, the doorkeepers, had gathered from the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and from all the remnant of Israel, and from all Judah and Benjamin and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Hilkiah Finds the Book of the Law
2Ch 34:21 LSB - [21] "Go, inquire of Yahweh for me and those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book which has been found, for great is the wrath of Yahweh which is poured out against us, because our fathers have not kept the word of Yahweh, to do according to all that is written in this book."
Josiah Will Not See Yahweh’s Wrath
2Ch 34:26-28 LSB - [26] "But to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, thus you shall say to him, 'Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "[Regarding] the words which you have heard, [27] because your heart was soft and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and [because] you humbled yourself before Me, tore your clothes and wept before Me, I truly have heard you," declares Yahweh. [28] "Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace, so your eyes will not see all the evil which I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants."'" So they brought back word to the king.
Josiah Cuts a Covenant with Yahweh
2Ch 34:30 LSB - [30] And the king went up to the house of Yahweh and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests and the Levites and all the people, from the greatest to the least; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of Yahweh.
2Ch 34:31-33 LSB - [31] Then the king stood in his place and cut a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to do the words of the covenant that were written in this book. [32] Moreover, he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand [with him]. So the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. [33] And Josiah took away all the abominations from all the lands belonging to the sons of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel to serve Yahweh their God. Throughout his lifetime they did not turn away from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
Josiah Celebrates the Passover
2Ch 35:3 LSB - [3] He also said to the Levites who provided understanding to all Israel [and] who were holy to Yahweh, "Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built; it will be a burden on [your] shoulders no longer. Now serve Yahweh your God and His people Israel.
2Ch 35:18 LSB - [18] And there had not been celebrated a Passover like it in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; nor had any of the kings of Israel celebrated such a Passover as Josiah celebrated with the priests, the Levites, all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Josiah Dies in War
2Ch 35:22 LSB - [22] However, Josiah would not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to make war with him; nor did he listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but came to make war on the plain of Megiddo.

2Ch 36:21 LSB - [21] to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had made up for its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept sabbath until seventy years were fulfilled.
The Proclamation of Cyrus
2Ch 36:22-23 LSB - [22] Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia--in order to complete the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah--Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he had a proclamation pass throughout all his kingdom, and also [put it] in writing, saying, [23] "Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, 'Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may Yahweh his God be with him, and let him go up!'"
